National Fusion Science & Technology Roadmap

Helixos supported the U.S. Department of Energy in developing the national Fusion Science & Technology Roadmap. Helixos conducted a series of workshops to engage key stakeholders and facilitate discussions on prioritizing technical challenges and defining actionable steps with success metrics toward the commercialization of fusion energy. This roadmap serves as a decision-making tool, allowing the fusion program to assess progress, adjust strategies proactively, and allocate resources effectively. National Roadmap for Fusion Energy

Helixos served as the lead editor and author for a strategic national roadmap for fusion energy development in partnership with a national laboratory. This involved synthesizing input from multiple stakeholders, managing revisions, and graphic design. The roadmap was presented to the federal government and other stakeholders. Technoeconomic Modeling for Fusion Market Analysis

Helixos partnered with the FusionX platform to deliver a comprehensive electricity market report: "Fusion Market Analysis: Electricity, Supply Chain & Construction." Using advanced technoeconomic modeling, we provided insights into the global fusion market, including electricity production, supply chain dynamics, and construction opportunities. Helixos supported all aspects of marketing and communications for an SMR company, including brand strategy, audience research, and developing and reviewing marketing materials (presentations, web copy, social media posts, fact sheets, talking points, media responses, and more) for various channels.

Community Engagement for New Fusion Test Facility

Helixos managed the logistics of an event to break ground on a new fusion test facility with a U.S. governor and other local policymakers in attendance. The event resulted in wide community awareness and support of fusion and the facility.

Techno-Economic Analysis of Hydrogen Production from a Nuclear Power Plant

Helixos advised on the technical feasibility and business case for diverting steam from an operating nuclear power plant to high-temperature steam electrolysis to produce hydrogen as an additional revenue stream.

Unlocking Fusion Energy for Industrial Heat Applications

Helixos partnered with a fusion energy organization, FusionX, to deliver a comprehensive heat application report: "Beyond electricity: fusion as a force in the industrial heat sector." Our analysis evaluated pathways for using fusion in industrial heat applications, outlining opportunities for sustainable decarbonization across various sectors. By providing clear, data-driven insights and tailored recommendations, we empowered industry readers to identify strategic initiatives for integrating fusion-based heat solutions.

Sustainable Waste Management for Nuclear Medicine

Helixos delivered a detailed life cycle cost assessment for waste management in a nuclear medicine manufacturing operation. This included an end-to-end analysis of waste collection, processing, conditioning, transport, and disposal. Cost models were developed for each product highlighting volume flows through all processing pathways.
